This Tonga stool, made from one piece of wood, has beautiful patina from age and much use.
A circular cone form a seat with carved triangle shapes that support all on a circular cone form base. Tonga stools were important symbols of status used by the head of the household and known as Chigaro to the Tonga people.
Age: Est. late 19th/early 20th century.
Proveniens: Dutch collection in the 1970s. Sold to a Danish painter.
