The Jaipur school is one of the most popular and best known of the miniature schools of Rajasthan. In the 18th and 19th centuries, Jaipur paintings were exported to all corners of India.

The style is characterized by transformation, and often evolved under the influence of the painters who took it up. For instance, the mid-18th-century period is exemplified by naturalistic, full-figure portraits.
