Yaka Flute or Whistle, Zaïre (DR. Congo)
Yaka hunters blow whistles or flutes to inform the community of an upcoming hunt. While in the forest, men use whistles to communicate amongst themselves. They are also blown during some rituals, such as when the farmer asks the ancestors to protect his field or a community searches for a thief.
