Bracelet with Lizard Motif, Lobi, Burkina Faso, Africa

This outstanding bronze bracelet from the Lobi tribe of Burkina Faso was used as currency. It has a remarkable detailed surface with a lizard engraved. The lizard is a symbol of alertness and protection against evil spirits.

Provenance: Private collection from Paris.
