Pablo Picasso

Pablo Picasso (1881-1973)

Art print produced for Galerie Maeght, Paris – 305 x 400 mm.

This is a lithographic print using an aluminum plate instead of stone. A printing technique, which more and more printers now use to avoid working with the tons of heavy stones. The print has applied the same principles as traditional lithography, where fat (or oil) sheds water using the same fatty ink material. Printing ink and water is automatically applied to the plate, and ink settles on the subject. Then allocates the aluminum plate pressed a rubber roller which in turn allocates the drawing on the paper. This makes the drawing the right way up again and that this print technique ensures that the colors match the original and do not fade.
