Small Benin Bronze Leopard.

This small but expressive bronze leopard created using the Lost-wax process, also called cire-perdue, method of metal casting in which a molten metal is poured into a mold that has been created by means of a wax model.

These bronze leopards have partly been ornaments of the court but also used as gifts to the people in recognition of their devotion in relation to the court.
